As Americans focus on finding solutions for long-standing racial disparities, many have been moved to support businesses and organizations that are Black-owned or Black-led.
Inspired by this movement, in 2020, Charity Navigator partnered with Giving Gap philanthropists Christina Lewis, the Founder and President of All Star Code, Stephanie Ellis-Smith, Founder and Principal of Phila Engaged Giving, and Dr. David Setiadi, an experienced CTO, CIO, and entrepreneur, to amplify a crowd-sourced list of Black-founded charities to raise awareness and funds for Black-founded organizations.
The charities featured in the Black-founded organization list are highly rated on Charity Navigator. Consider supporting one or several of these charities working across a spectrum of categories and cause areas through Charity Navigator's Giving Basket. Your support will act as an investment in the Black community and help facilitate an increased understanding of racial disparities in philanthropic funding.
